A step by step guide that teaches felting wool while unfolding what wool witnesses in Palestine.
This publication is woven through ‘Wool as Witness, a collaborative art project between textile artists Lara Salous and Samira Vogel. In spring of 2026, the artists visited eleven shepherding communities across the occupied West Bank, collecting wool and listening to stories of a pastoral life under threat: shrinking grazing lands, attacks by Israeli settlers, stolen water sources, displacement, altered geographies and interrupted routes.
The publication was introduced at the ‘Hands on Wool’ workshop as part of the exhibition ‘A Phantom With Limbs of Steel’. The project Wool as Witness is supported by Pro Helvetia Cairo, Swiss Arts Council.
All the proceeds from the sales of this publication goes to the shepherds and their families in Palestine.

هذا المنشور نُسج خلال المشروع الفني ‘الصوف كشاهد’، هو مشروع تعاوني بين فنانتي النسيج لارا سلعوس و سميرة ڤوجال. ٥ي ربيع ٢٠٢٦ زارتا الفنانتان إحدى عشرة مجتمعًا رعويًا عبر الضفة الغربية المحتلة، جامعين الصوف ومستمعين إلى قصص حياة الرعاة الفلسطينين و عائلاتهم تحت التهديد: تقلّص المراعي، هجمات المستوطنين الإسرائيليين، سرقة مصادر المياه، التهجير، تغيّر الجغرافيا، وانقطاع مسارات الرعي.
